Saturn Industries Inc. is today’s leader in CNC Milling Part Manufacturing. Our knowledgeable staff and state of the art machinery makes our services superior in the industry. We are equipped with 5 Axis Positional / Simultaneous High Speed machinery. We offer Prototyping services to large quantity production runs.
CNC Milling at Saturn Industries
CNC milling is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses 3-axis milling and 5-axis indexed milling processes to rapidly cut graphite and metal blocks into final parts. As the CNC mills, the rotating cutting tool moves around the workpiece, which remains fixed to a bed. Mills are all-purpose CNC machines that can handle most any machining process. Saturn Industries also offers CNC Turning and CNC Grinding services.
Benefits of CNC Milling
Milling has several advantages over other manufacturing processes. It is cost effective for short runs. Complex shapes and high dimensional tolerances are possible. Smooth finishes can be achieved. Computer Numerical Control (CNS) milling can produce most 2D or 3D shapes provided that the rotating cutting tools can reach the material to be removed. Examples of parts include engine components, mold tooling, complex mechanisms, enclosures, etc. You can learn more about CNC milling at Thomas.net.
Saturn Industries’ can produce custom prototypes and end-use production parts. Using our 3-axis milling and 5-axis indexed CNC milling processes, we can manufacture parts from more than 30 graphite and other metals with turnaround as short as 1 day.
This machining process can handle most rigid materials including most metals: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Copper, Steel, Brass, Titanium, Sterling Silver, Bronze, and graphite. See our complete list of materials below.
• Corner radii of 10% or more of wall height is ideal.
• Avoid flimsy shapes.
• Provide shapes that are practical to hold during machining, such as straight edges.
• As the milling process applies pressure to the material, weak shapes are difficult to machine, such as long thin shapes and thin walls.
• Generates a cut surface with a visible pattern resulting from the rotation and movement of the cutter.
• We stock a wide variety of materials, use state-of-the-art machines and diligently follow all design specifications.
Saturn Industries, is constantly striving to improve and optimize our processes and maximize customer convenience. Our customers range from inventors to businesses to government agencies. We are focused on quality and customer service.
